Online Collaboration

Here is a mindmap plan for an online collaboration tool.

The idea is to base it on django and mercurial with a healthy splattering javascript. It should allow direct (non-web) access for the power user and handle LaTeX projects nicely.

Problems with svn

3-D Wii

Another really nice application of Nintendo's Wii remote by Johnny Lee.

It's amazing how good the 3-D effect is, I guess our brains are wired to interpret depth in this way.

cheap interactive whiteboard

This is very cool: a wii remote + infrared led + projector and you have your own interactive whiteboard:

more details here.

Looks like there's drivers for the wii remote for most platforms even linux, so hopefully we will see a whole lot of programs that make use of it eg driving powerpoint, navigation for croquet, ...

Why are there only two sexes?

Ok, I can see the advantage of having sexual mixing of genes for a species … but why stop at two sexes? Is it just that there isn’t some convenient bio-chemical machinery available or are there more subtle reasons? Would the battle become an all out war Smile ?
